Established in 1997, Puddleduck Vineyard has been producing premium Tasmanian wines from grapes grown in the single site vineyard. The grapes are processed within an hour of picking in an energy neutral winery. You’ll even get to meet their pet duck Lucky as well as resident wine dog, Polly too!
Explore the Puddleduck wine tasting experience in a number of different ways. For those with less time to spare the Bar tastings offer a ‘duck in and duck out’ tasting experience.
Full Flight takes the experience to a whole new level in a beautiful tasting room. Soak in the views over the duck pond and also the vineyard as you enjoy your tasting in their crystal Plumm glass wear.
Full Flight with Cheese and Quackers tastings can also be enjoyed with one of their beautiful cheese platters. Featuring local cheeses such as Wicked Cheese Company Brie and Elini yoghurt cheese, served with local Richmond Jam Maker relish. Simply divine!
Why not go the whole way and enjoy a Grape Pickers Lunch. Consisting of two courses and also your choice of wine, beer or cider with tea and coffee to finish.
For those that would like to pack their own picnic Puddleduck Vineyard offers a fantastic (and very original) reverse BYO. You can enjoy your own picnic in the beautiful outdoor areas and also purchase delicious wine to match your scrumptious picnic. Delightful!

Sit down Tasting - $15 to sit and relax whilst enjoying a taste of each of our flagship wines in beautiful Plumm glassware.
Tasting with Cheese and "Quackers" as above with our current release wines accompanied by a Tasmanian cheese platter featuring three cheeses, our own Puddleduck Pepperberry Relish and Crackers (GF option available) for $25 per person.
Call us if you wish to secure a picnic table - we also encourage throwing out a rug or enjoying our new beanbags which are available over the warmer months.
All of our wines are available by the glass or bottle so they can be enjoyed on site as long as they are accompanied by food (Cheese platter available or Reverse BYO® in our outside areas)
Puddleduck can cater for larger groups with the help of our beautiful new tasting room with deck over the dam.
Puddleduck is also ideal for a casual end of year work gathering with a game of frisbee or backyard cricket.

Puddleduck wines are hand-picked and made with care - our beautiful fruit driven cool climate wines are only available from the cellar door, via our website, telephone and mail orders. The aim of Puddleduck is to make seriously good wine, not lots of it and to have fun doing what we love. Hence our name and our slogan "Bottoms Up!"
Puddleduck currently grows 4 varieties of grapes.
We make a Sparkling called Bubbleduck (we thought Puddleduck Sparkling sounded a bit boring so decided to run a competition - Bubbleduck was the winner) Our sparkling takes just shy of three years to make. It is fermented in the bottle just like French Champagne (although we can't call it that) Made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay this wine makes an amazing starter for special occasions (or just because moments.) Dry and citrussy with tiny fine bead (bubbles).
Our Rieslings are made in a crisp dry style. They age well so best drunk either in the first couple of years of purchase or wait till they are well over 8 years old before opening. Tasmanian aged Rieslings made in this style create beautiful honey and toasty characteristics and are certainly worth the wait. If you are impatient (as is most of the world) they are also beautiful in their youth and great with fish and seafood or as a pre- dinner drink.
Chardonnay - mmmm my favourite! Beautiful hints of vanilla and sweet spice on the nose then stone fruits and a long lingering finish. Our Chardonnays have certainly turned a lot of people from being ABC'S (Anything But Chardonnay). In the good old days (1980's) Chardonnay (or Chardy as it is so commonly called here in Australia) was the IN thing and THAT became the problem - when something is very popular the quality can start to go down if profit is the driving force. People left Chardonnay in droves (and rightly so, it was awful) and there was a new thing on the horizon from an exotic land called New Zealand.....you guessed it.......
Sauvignon (Fume) Blanc - the New Zealanders certainly have enjoyed an overwhelming success with this variety. Our Sauvignon Blanc has been barrel fermented to create a more sophisticated style which is beautiful on the palate. It is a great food friendly style of wine.
Pinot Noir - Arguably Tasmania's most famous variety - in 2013 around 45% of Tasmanias production was dedicated to growing Pinot Noir - either for sparkling production or for table wine. Our Pinot is a rich fruit driven style. Lovely vanilla, sweet spice and earthy flavours combine to create a stunning wine. Drink while young, or cellar for 5-8 years is my motto with Pinot Noir. Fantastic with duck (sorry Lucky).

If your Gift Voucher is posted, please allow a couple of days for your gift voucher to arrive as it is traveling by Australia Post.
